Kenya

On July 11 we arrived early morning in Nairobi after a long flight. We stayed at my cousin’s house and after a whole day of resting and catching up, we headed to the Diamond Plaza to try some popular “Maru Bajiyas”, battered potatoes that I couldn’t get enough of. Next day early in the morning we drove to the airdrome to get a plane to Mombasa. From Mombasa, we were picked up by the resort representative to drive us to Chale Island. When we first arrived at Chale Island the tides were very low and we got to the Island via truck. Well, I must say I was disappointed to see no water and dry land at first. Once arriving at our beautiful ocean view room I was excited. After a nap, I was in awe and surprised by the tide change. The water was almost at our doorstep and the waves were gorgeous. The food was amazing. Being a vegetarian it’s always hard for me to have options but this place had so many vegetarian options and…..some more. After 3 day of soaking in on the ocean view and sounds of the waves, we headed back to Nairobi.
