Kenya(part 2)

Our next adventure awaited us as we started out early next day morning towards Masai Mara. The much-anticipated safari. The aircraft was small and to my surprise, it made multiple stops before we reached Olkiombo airstrip. Then I got to know that Airdrome in the savannah doesn’t have any fences. we were greeted by our guide, Amos with the transport right at the flight door. He took us to our place Mara Eden.A beautiful camp right by the Mara river. Watching Hippos right outside our tent was an awesome treat. After lunch, we headed straight for the safari(game drive). We saw a lion and four lionesses feeding on their hunt followed by zebras, wildebeest, leopard, deer, crocodiles, elephants and hyenas. I cannot explain the feeling of watching nature’s work so closely. Everything seems to be in such perfect order, The circle of life.
Next day we woke up at 4.00 for our first ever balloon ride, Yay! watching the sun rise and the light spreading over the whole savannah was magical. After the ride, we had breakfast in the savannah with our pilot who was from London and he told us that he had traveled to 100 countries and Kenya was one of his favorites. In the afternoon we were lucky enough to see a leopard hunting a wildebeest live, after which we headed back to the camp for a wonderful lunch. I was surprised at such yummy vegetarian food. The chief was always happy to make us any kind of dish we wanted.
The third day we were ready at 6.00 a.m to embark on our exciting day ahead. We watched another gorgeous sunrise behind two lions on a hill. The picture does not do any justice to watching this view live. After lunch, we visited a Masai village. The chief welcomed us with their welcome song and dance, then they showed us their houses and how they make fire. What an experience to see the different ways and traditions. We got to see some of their handicrafts too.
Next day after an early morning game drive we started toward the airstrip to get to Nairobi.
